The Help America Read Global Network (HARXGN), a literacy initiative of Children's University Achievement Corporation, teaches phonemic awareness through phonograms, dictation, a special marking system, syllabication, and structured spelling rules — giving every learner the tools to read any word, often beyond their age or grade level.
This is not a standard reading protocol. It is a structured, rule-based phonogram system — free as part of our core program, with optional comprehension books available for purchase.

How the Program Works
Our method is sequential and mastery-based. Students don't move on until each skill is automatic — and the results speak for themselves.
Learn Phonograms
Master the sounds of written language — the phonograms. Each phonogram is drilled daily through dictation exercises until fully automatic.
Apply the Marking System
A special marking system identifies which sound a phonogram is making in any given word, giving students the tool to decode any word independently.
Learn Syllabication Rules
Discover how to break words into syllables using structured rules. Syllabication is the key to decoding long, complex words confidently.
Master Spelling & Reading Rules
A core set of spelling, writing, and reading rules gives students a systematic framework — not guesswork — for reading and writing any word.
This Is Not a Standard Reading Program
Most reading programs teach sight words or guess-from-context strategies. Ours is different. We teach the phonogram system — the sounds of the English language — so students can decode any word, not just the ones they've memorized.

After Mastery of the Core Skills…
Students can pick up almost any book and read it — often beyond their age or grade level. The phonogram system gives them a complete decoding framework that works across all of the English language.
Optional: Comprehension Book Series
Our grade-level reading comprehension books contain original stories. Students read a passage, answer comprehension questions, and receive a scored result. These books are available for purchase separately and are outside of our free core platform program.
